I met Arty many years ago, when I still lived in Montreal. He was a small, feisty, little Chihuahua with the heart of a lion and the soul of a wolf. He was full of life, and there was no ending to how loud his bark could get. He loved making his presence known, and getting the attention of his mom when he did.
He was a bit shy and, let's face, distrustful of strangers, but he had a good heart.
I was saddened when I heard of his passing. After moving to Toronto, I enjoyed following his comings-and-goings through his "mom's" social media.
This illustration gave Nat (his "mom") a little something to remember him by, along with the hundreds and hundreds of pictures she had. It showed him at his funniest, most vulnerable, and endearing moments.
